Writing Workshop Deadline Coming Up!

A reminder that my next Personal Essay and Memoir Workshop on Zoom starts September 6 and the application deadline is next Monday, August 21st. So get those submissions in! Extra points if you use a typewriter like the one pictured and shove the pages under my door and run away.

Here are details about the class.

What it is:

A six-week, once-a-week online workshop, on Zoom, for intermediate to advanced writers. 

When it is:

Every Wednesday for six weeks, beginning September 6 and running through October 11, 2023, 3- 5pm ET. (We might run a little overtime once in a while, but I always try to keep us on track.) If that’s your meal time, feel free to eat discreetly during the class.

How it will work:

The class meets once a week for two hours on Zoom. I will lead general conversations about craft and the business of publishing as well as discussions of student work. Depending on the size of the class, students will have one to two opportunities to workshop manuscripts up to 15 double-spaced pages each, with at least 45 minutes devoted to each workshop discussion. 

At some point during the course, each student will have the opportunity to meet with me privately on Zoom for 45 minutes to an hour. We can use this time to discuss your pages or any other writing-related issue.

Class size to be determined, but will not exceed 12 students.

I will get back to you within a few days of the deadline.

Fee: $1400  ($400 deposit required upon acceptance. Balance due by Wednesday, August 30, 2023.)
